Well iv been living in London for about a month now, i got the idea to start a blog of my life in the "big city" from a friend who thought it would be a fun idea.
So this is my first time moving away from home, i'm from north east England originally and i have to admit the honeymoon period of being away is kind of drifting away. Since being in London iv walked soooooo much, my feet are disgusting, i definitely need advice on the best pair of fashionable walking shoes for being in the city.
London is beautiful, just yesterday i walked into a huge department store (can't remember the name, just of Piccadilly Circus) and it had the most extravagant Christmas decoration display i have ever seen! I felt like i had just walked into Santa's workshop, it was amazing. Although i picked up a decoration and it was like £25 for two little tree decorations, little expensive if you ask me. With it being obviously a very posh shop i felt out of place to snap up some good photos of the place. I will most definitely be going back and taking my sister along with me when she visits, it was just so pretty.
Besides from that my time in London so far has consisted of me getting used to my surroundings, settling into work and a routine. On the weekends iv been visiting little markets and the huge shops that surround me. A few weeks ago my boyfriend visited me for our 5 year anniversary, he is still living back in the north east, and we went to Harrods for ice cream! It was amazing, i managed to snap a few photos, i would recommend it to anyone who appreciates deserts as much as we do.
Scott had chocolate fudge brownie with hot chocolate sauce! Yum
I had banoffee yum, i couldn't finish mine
They were so yummy! I also took Scott for a stroll along kings road, with all the high brand stores which he enjoyed looking at. We never went in though, as i think we would have looked a little out of place! But we did enjoy shopping on Oxford street, which is just a short walk away from where i live, very convenient.
I have to say, i have to bow down to anyone who lives away from their loved ones, it is not the easiest thing to do at all! Dropping him off to go home was an emotional time, but it is not too long till he comes to visit me again :).
So i suppose i better tell everyone a little bit about myself, I'm 21, recently graduated university, and now working as a nanny in London. I'm only going to be here for a year, but i though that this blog would be a nice thing for me to look back at my time in London, the good the bad and the depressing!
Talk you you soon
Beth...x
